Cleaning uprights
locost7-online.com - 20/5/15 at 07:09 PM

I'm sure I see a thread on here where someone had sailed uprights in something to remove the rust, was it coke or whit vinigar or something similar

10 minutes with a flap disc
10 minutes with a degreaser
10 minutes with a wire brush to finish
clean off with wipes & spray.

Whilst drinking the coke

Glad you didn't say something else about the coke, will this be good enough for powder coating?

the powder coater would probably give it a once over with the shot blaster before coating.

Good point thanks furry, I presume just tape up the spindle

The easy way is electrolysis.

I will be setting one up over the week end. Just fetched a 208l plastic drum.

24 hours in the bath then rinse them of. I will give them 10 minuets in the shoot blaster then they will be ready for paint.
