Volvo Donor

My girlfriends dad has a Volvo 240 GLT which has been diagnose with...

"I'm afraid to say that there's a hole in the sub-frame." Said the mechanic.
"Right, I see. So, how much is that gonna cost me?"
"HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!! Ha, ha, ha, ha. Just leave a blank check with reception on your way out. Best make a large deposit on your way past the bank too, just to be sure it'll clear."

It's 91 on an H plate with recon front callipers, obviously rear wheel drive and I'm told it's a 2.4ltr. would this be of use to anyone?

itd make a nice donor car , engine is 2316cc - youre too far away from me tho .

try the volvo owners club , turbobricks , since there is some uk owners on that site etc .

if its only a hole in the subframe ( tell me where it is ) , thats easy repairable

Thanks for the help. Think they're set on getting rid, but wanted to keep their options open. I'll get on to the Volvo owners club.

Does anyone know if there are any kits out there that use Volvo donors?

Is it a saloon or an estate?

Chris_R - 14/12/04 at 06:19 PM

It's an estate with alloys and a leather interior.

does the car actually have a fail sheet? - is there anywhere else it needs welding?

Chris_R - 14/12/04 at 07:26 PM

I don't know unfortunately. I was told that he'd had a guy look at it who recommended getting rid of it because of the welding. He's had it for years and didn't really wanna part with it. They've also got a 2004 Vectra.

He said he was going to sell it privately as they were gonna but a new Fiesta and asked if I knew of anyone who'd be interested in it, whole or in bits.

That's all I know at the moment, except that it's been well looked after. Could find out though.
