Which Bits Dont I Need
andyace - 27/2/05 at 07:10 PM

I am nearly finished stripping my Sierra to put into my GTS full chassis and body kit (Just ordered )

Just thought I would check that I do not need the steering rack? and that I should get myself an escort mk2 one?

Also just checking if the sender on the fuel tank is of any use?

Oh yes and has anyone ever kept the brake servo?

Many thanks.

doesnt the gts car use a modified sierra rack? the fuel sender can be used, and the servo usually isnt - however, nothing is written in stone

The GTS comes with sterring rack extensions, however I dont know whether the sierra rack is ok or if I need an escort one.

Probably need to put that one to Darren.

Is the fuel sender easy to get off and does it refit back onto a locost tank easy enough?

Many thanks, Andy

i didnt end up using my sierra sender cos the hole you need to cut in the tank is a bit of an odd shape. I think several people have used it though. came out easy enough though!

i used mkII escort rack with extensions,
darren does a nice allum tank which i have used.the main mistake i made was not keeping the original sierra loom. keep EVERYTHING regarding electrics -reverse switch, engine loom, ecu etc...
i have spent more in the scrappy getting bits i shouldnt have thrown away than i did on the original sierra!
re. the brake servo, all you need is the master cylinder - apparently you dont need the servo on a light car such as a seven type.
any more probs, drop me a line and ill do my best to help.
