I think its a Mk2 possibly Mk1 but not the square Mk3/4 for sure.
Very rusty, looks quite dead, no wheels but all the running gear is there, although quite rusty looking. It said 1600GT on top of pinto engine.
It will be going in the mobile crusher in about a week, is this any use to my build or anyone elses?
Guy said £40 for complete front subframe, could probably haggle on that price.
Got to be a Mk3 at least, all the Mk1 and 2 Cortina engines were Kent based (apart from the Savage of course) and do not have double wishbone front
ends.
Worth it for the uprights.
Where is it exactly?
Ok just went to look at some pics to refresh my cortina memory. I stilll think its a Mk2 1600 GT and now you mention it yeah probably a Kent crossflow
engine. I only briefly glanced over it as I was after a bit for the heap of shed I have to drive daily (sorted for now).
If useful what bits should be liberated from this car? and how much are they normally worth?
Hubs/Uprights/Calipers I presume, Steering rack/diff/rear axel? or are they no use.
Gazza: I can see you want to rob my find from under my eyes, but anyway, its at DMS (Doncaster Motor Spares) nr White Rose in leeds. Best it goes to
someone than gets crushed, go for it if you need them.

Mk2 Cortinas have McPherson front ends, sell them to the Anglia boys for disk brake conversions. Engine, gearbox, prop and axle can be used. I'd only really be interested in the stub axles if it was a Mk3,4 or 5, but I have a buyer for the rear axle. My build is out of the window at the minute thanks to Jon Ison taking me out for a spin in his GT1 today.
ok cool, thats my little lesson in cortinas for today then , will keep a look out for Mk3/4/5's from now on. I decided to go zetec & sierra
route so never researched the cortina/escort/capri side of things really.
I may pop in and double check its deffo a Mk2 cos its only down the road from where I work.
