Donor cars for Ford MT75 trans
Rex Schimmer - 26/11/02 at 04:40 AM

I am building a 1928 Ford roadster pickup and am planning to use a Zetec engine and I understand that a MT75 trans will bolt right up to it, is this true? As you probably guessed I'm a Yank. What are the doner cars for the MT75 trans?

My understanding is that the clutch mechanism may well need changing, but apart from that it's all good. As for donors, I've no idea what uses it over your way, but over here, I believe it's post 1988 sierras.

its about post 1989 sierras AND granadas.

In the USA a version of the sierra was called the Merkur. I think it was the XR4i in the UK - the american one has a 4 cyl 2.3 turbo - ours had 2.8 V6 - I wouldnt be suprised if its a completly different box.

The following web resource shows that you seem to be on the right track with the MT75

However, be wary of men in little yellow pedal cars pushed by his mum.

No ford vehicle in the states was fitted with the MT75 box so I am told.
