Hello all,

Can a Mk2 Cortina be used as a donor, as I have been offered one at low price as the body is beyond restoration.

MKII Cortina has front struts. The engine would be useable especially if its a cross flow.

Only the very last of the Cortina II's had a crossflow with a 5 bearing crank, the early ones had a 3 bearing (def no no)

All crossflows have a five bearing crank. It was some of the pre crossflow engines that had a three bearing crank.

Thanks folks,

I knew about the struts being no use (forum search), but wasn't sure about the engine (1600E), as it's so cheap it's worth a shot and strip down.
