did any sierra's come with a decent lsd? thinking of fitting one to my future build.
cheers
4x4s all did and they are mostly, if not all, disc braked.
Cheers,
James
They are all disc braked. Also the XR4 and some Scorpios had LSD I believe. The Scorpio diff is 0.5" (making it 7.5" wider across the
mounts though.
Chris
For some reason the text on your last reply was unreadable.........nice avatar!!
cheers guys
to my (limited) knowledge, xr4s are not fitted with LSDs. Only 4wd and some (all?) 2wd cossies.

Correct
The XR4i (2wd) has push in drive shafts with 10" drum brakes. ratio 3.62 non LSD
The Xr4x4's had lobro (bolt on shafts) as in the 2 on ebay the ratios were 3.62 except the 2.0i which had a 3.92 both LSD
The LSD was also fitted to the 4x4 Ghia
I can only assume that the ebayers are abbreviating XR4x4 to XR4...
Cheers
Mark
Unless someone can prove me wrong...

Thanks for clearing that up Mark. I'm hoping to get one of those 2 and didn't want to end up with a pup.

Chris
the second one says its from an 4x4 anyway
cheers mookaloid, sounds like it may not be the best option for a nice light kitcar, could upset the handling somewhat mid corner, I seem to remember
driving a 2L 4x4 sierra that would spin a little before powering out of a corner (if powering isn't too strong a word for a sierra!! ) I guess it
will be worse being 2wd rather than 4wd as well.... hmmmm
ah well cheers anyway guys

Sorry to add to the post but which of the ratios is preferable? I have also heard of people using the diff from a freelander - is this a better unit
to use if available?
Cheers
Rich
try the quaife speed calculator:
http://www.quaife.co.uk/products/gearboxes.htm
The freelander diff is nice and light, but not an lsd. Only option for a lsd freelander diff is a big cheque to quaife.
Liam
there was also a gls 4x4 sierra iirc and i think i've seen one!
