I need advice.
I have just removed the engine from the a donor vehicle, can i scrap the car now or do i need to keep the regstration document to prove the age of the
engine for the SVA test.
Old cars are starting to build up round here .
hi
not too sure
but i think you have to keep the chassis plate, reg plate's,and v5
hope that helps
if you need more im sure some body will tell you
cheers paul
You need the V5 as evidence that you have used at least 2 major components (including engine) from your donor to get an age related plate, just make
sure it's SORN.
I'm sure I'll be corrected if wrong but pretty sure that's right.
You can still scrap the car, just keep the V5. Be sure to remove all traces of the cars identity though by removing number plates and VIN plates etc,
just to make sure no-one attempts to claim the V5 from DVLA.
If you aren't too concerned whether you get an age related plate or a Q plate, then you could just scrap the car and send the V5 back to DVLA
informing them. Having no V5 will get you a Q plate.
Dont forget to SORN it
