Just wondered if someone would be kind enough to please enlighten me ref the following -

Does it matter which steering column and rack to use in a type 7 kit.

ie Can a PAS type column be used?

Can a PAS type rack be used?

Or is this too difficult a question due to different models or other possibilities/issues?

Will appreciate your views and thanks in advance.

You can use any column you like as far as I know.

You want a non assited rack though. Tricky to fit the assisted one in, though its possible. And not possible to use it without assistance without major modifications.

The bottom link for the power assisted rack will not fit the unassisted rack, the spline is a different size. The one I found was bigger for PAS. The top column is same but the PAS I found was an adjustable which can be a pain or an advantage.

Ok guys, thanks for those coments - looks like I need a non PAS car then.
