Ive found a 2 litre estate Pinto sierra for sale. £40. Will this be any good. Is an estate better than a hatchback?
Thanks Chris

So the estate has got a wierd back end. In what way? Surely it cant be different in all the working parts?

And will the donor car work?

I assume that your asking if it will work as a donor vehicle, the answer is certainly, especialy if it has a manual g/box. The only thing that may be diferent to the car is the back axle ratio, and I don't know if the estate has a lower ratio.

the ratio is unlikely to be different. The trailing arms and shocker arrangement is different, but the running gear is all the same.

I've used a 1.6 Pinto Estate as my donor and I'll be on the road over xmas (fingers crossed).

Some estates have a higher numbered diff (3.92 often) to keep the revs up for pulling all that extra weight. That may only apply to the smaller engines.

Yup, that's what I've got. And the long stoke engine. Can light the tires in 3rd gear!
