Donors

Hi All
I am about to take the first steps on the journey that ends in the cockpit of a Locost. My question is regarding a donor car. I have a 'D' registered Capri 2.0 Laser sat on my drive, though machanically sound it is otherwise gradually roting. Would this make a good donor or should I scrap it and look for something else?

Sounds good to me, I think you might need to get some cortina or sierra uprights for the front, but the engine gearbox and axle are ok.

There will be some people here who know more about the axle width and which chassis plans to use.

Cheers

Mark

Almost ideal -- Capri is the best axle to use -- book Escort axle is a little too narrow.

For front end parts use Sierra and get the sterring rack chopped & narrowed down.

There will probably be a few SylvaRiot builders after your front hubs, uprights and brakes .

Martin.

Or cut them down and use them yourself - like the Fisher Fury. Threaded adaptor onto the top - screw in a metro bottom balljoint ( into the top). Bingo - lightweight front hubs. Way better than Cortina or definitely Sierra
