Might sound bizarre but has anyone out there ever used a TR 7 as a donor before ? I have given up looking for a MK II Escort as they are like hen's teeth these days.
Any info would be much apprec. Tks.

you could use tr7 as doner but would have to make a lot of adjustments to book dimensions,as for fitting V8,dont think there would be room in a std chassis ,a lot easier would be to buy a chassis from MK or LUEGO and use a seirra as doner,lot less agg,been there got the t shirt

You CAN'T do that.

But I guess if the body is rotten, better than scrapping it.


You couldn't do a book chassis, but plenty of folk are doing v8 mods. - check out http://www.mcsorley.net for the 7+442 and search for posts by cymtriks
Bit more work though.

Does the tr7 use coilovers like the spitfire?
Using them could save yourself some dosh.

You may also find that the front uprights and/or brakes are of use. Frasers (http://www.fraser.co.nz) (biggest vehicle manufacturers in NZ!!) suggest using triumph 2000 calipers on cortina uprights, as they're light and powerful, but they're real hard to find.
