been given a1988 (E reg) 2.0i GLS sierra today, needs a battery to get it running.
I guess sierra spares in aldershot will give me a few quid for anything unused (lights, doors, elec window setups, interior, bumpers etc etc)
seems in good nick, just need to get the bugger running, then i can see what exactly i've got....
Excellent feeling that one. Congrats.
Lets hope it runs ok...

Pardon me for asking but how'd you blag a free jellymould? I would like to do something similar ('cos I'm a tight git and why pay when you don't have to?!) so any tips or hints?

Do you not read the clubs and events section???
Shokkin behaviour I tell you...
Bordon's near Farnham isn't it? Should only take 20 minutes to get to Newlands from there.
.. because then you won't be able to knock them down on price when you see that great gaping rust hole in the nearside sill! Say you're
after a cheap runabout to get the kids to school and this is all you can afford. You're hoping to do it up and you just got a Haynes manual off
your (disabled) father in law so it has to be a Sierra.
My DOHC donor was free. This is because where I live the scrappys charge you to get rid of your old tin (in my case, £60 for the shell!). Just keep a
lookout in the local free-adds rag. You'll find one eventually. The previous owner was a family man and his young kids didn't want to see
the poor old thing go, but there it was, already replaced (by a Rover 214!) and no MOT & tax. I was looking for an injection model but I could not
resist at that price..
Speaking of the scrappy, he knows I'm building a kit and thinks I'm rich. Tried to charge me £50 for a Sierra pedal box! He wonders why
I've never bought a single part from him (although I've been there quite a few times).
Sometimes I wish I lived up North... They give Ford parts away free with boxes of Cornflakes, or so I heard.
Good luck. Patience is the key.
