Stripping the donar car at the minute, went to remove the hubs and drive shafts last night, but!!! - i got the drivers side off ok, drive shaft nut was tight but i got it of, the passenger side drive shaft nut i could not get loose, before i go at this with heat etc, can any one let me know if its left or right hand thread, (i may have spent an hour tightening it!!
Yes, each drive shaft nut has an opposite hand threads to them.

Right side=rh thread
Left side = lh thread
(both tightened to 'FT' and a sod to loosen)
Heat them until the nylon lock softens. easy then. You wouldn't want to reuse the nuts anyway.
Cheers for all the help, heated the nut until the nylock plastic bit melted, then used the air gun, it still took me over 30mins to get it off, when
it loosened it picked up on some thing on the threads so i just worked it back and forwards til i got it off, tonights job is to remove the drive
shafts from the diff. (another rusty mess)

PS just to confuse, not all sierras had the backwards nut, the later ones had r/h thread both sides.
All you need to do really is just have a close look at the thread protruding from the nut - it's fairly obvious which way they need to turn.
