Specification of sierra Donor
tegwin - 18/9/07 at 04:51 PM

I spotted an interesting Donor...

But does anyone know what the spec of it is?

What gearbox is it likley to be? And is the diff going to be LSD?

Its a sierra 2.0L GLX estate on an H reg...It has the 2.0L DOHC engine....

(Oh, and is the engine and tranny aluminium or steel?)

I believe the 2.0l DOHC usually had an MT75 gearbox fitted to it. The diff is more likely to be a normal not LSD.

I've just taken an MT75 out of a DOHC Sierra.

Some have said they have found type 9's in there too.

Is there any way of telling which box it is without having to pull it out of the car?..

An ID plate, or something?

And is the mt75 and dohc engine steel or ali?

you can tell just by looking at it...tottalt different.
if it has a DOHC engine it will have a MT75 box...check the link below.

Ive never seen a T9 in a Sierra fitted with a Dohc only ever the Mt75.

I would put money on it having the Mt75. Being Glx I would also say it will have efi and rear disc brakes. Doubt it will have the Lsd unless some one has added it.

Imho

It does have the rear disks.....Think its EFI as well...

So looks like it might make quite a nice donor...

Completely off the origional toppic, but which Audi V6 will fit the MT75?

Easiest way to find out is to ring the seller and ask where the lever is when in reverse. I can't remember where it is on either (even though I've a T9 in my car) but I know they're different.

I believe that a type 9 has reverse top left next to 1st.

Also that an MT75 has reverse bottom right under 5th.

R 1 3 5
....2 4...... = type 9

1 3 5
2 4 R ......= type MT75

Dam thing keeps formatting out my spaces!

Anyway that is how I have been checking cars, I want type 9

Cheers

Adrian

Er, none will bolt straight together as far as I know.

So that means messing around with bellhousings or adapter plate... in which case any engine of your choice will fit!
