LSD & Rear discs?

I'm going to need to buy a sierra soon or get some sierra parts for a donor for my MK Indy. I need to know what sort of sierra to look out for.

Do you feel the benefit of a limited slip diff in such a small car or would I be better off going for one with a better ratio?

Do you feel the benefit of rear discs on such a small car or would I be better off with drums?

P.S. I'll be running a fireblade engine.

IMHO the ford lsd is pretty useless in a bec, and discs are not necessary for stopping, although personally i would prefer discs over drums for looks and maintenance. if i was to do it again i would search out a suitable ratio with push in shafts and drums as these are lighter than lobros, then convert to discs, and if you can run to it, lightweight calipers (wilwood do a handbrake caliper now)
later on if you feel the need for an LSD, fit one from quaife or tran-x

There is a lot of difference in cost for a quaife diff etc.
It depends on if you want to go for the expense. The cheaper sierra lsd is probably ok for general road use. It depends on your budget.
We all want the best, but the best costs!
Both my cars are rear engined, so I like having rear discs plus brake bias, so that I can play around with the settings.

I got a Sierra 4x4 donor so have LSD and I like it, however most of the car was wasted as it had the v6 engine, heavy front hubs... so most just went in the bin.

The gearing is pefect for my blade engine.

I agree quaife etc don't come cheap, but they do work. For general road use an open diff is more than adequate, and substantially lighter than then an lsd setup from a 4x4 sierra. The rear brakes on my ST are virtually biased out, so i can't imagine drums being a problem as far as braking efficiency is concerned, especially for road use. The ZX9 has higher reduction gearing compared to a blade so favours lower diff ratios or bigger wheels. Mine pulls 3.14 no problem on 13" rims.
