Anyone any experience of using a lada as a donor?
Seen a company in links make a kit for it
And on the locost car club site it mentions ladas have the same dimension axles as mk2 escorts is this true?

Why would you want to use a Lada as a donor? A crap car must make a crap kit. Parts are likely to become difficult to find and what about tuning? The thought of a juiced up Lada is scary - unless you do it the Lotus way as on top gear

The Lada was basically a Fiat 124 which was a great car in its day, 5 Speed box, rear discs, option of a twin cam motor - all when its nearest Ford competition was the Anglia.

Good points - You can fit the Fiat twin cam without any problems (possibly even the croma range), easily available parts from Fiat or motor factors.

Bad points - Bad quality castings and fixings, if you undo a bolt you will end up with the sheared head in your socket!

measure it and see i guess. depends on the car you build if it will look right. and maybe check the ratio as well.
