Does anyone know if a transit ignition lock barrel will fit a sierra steering column?
If so,
I'm using a column from a 1985 sierra, what year of the transit will fit?
I bought a generic ford ignition lock off ebay that went into my Sierra column, it was listed for sierra and transit if that helps!

What year was your column from?
Do you know what year the barrel was ment for?
I know they changed from a flat type key to the round type around 1990, dont know if the barrels are interchangable.
Yes it will but only if they are the same
style of key an early Chubb lock from a
Transit or Esc will not fit a Sierra housing.
The skeleton type key is known as a chubb and the Sierra type key is known as
a Tibbe either style i can build the lock to
key or sort a key to fit the lock.
Is the tibbe key the round type?
Mine has the flat type (older style key) is this the chubb key?
My problem is I don't have a key, so I cannot get the barrel out in one piece to get the number from it. So if I could get a new barrel (cheap)
with a matching key I'd be sorted.
Their seems to be more transit barrels for sale on ebay so If it will work I'll by one.
Heres a pic of the barrel I have, sorry to say its damaged, the locking pin is missing.
Does yours have the M number on it thats on mine? may be able to get another new one if your not in a hurry

Cheers, no rush.
I haven't got the barrel out yet because I've no key, I should be able to get an old ford key and get it out.
I got one of the newer type barrels but unfortunatly it will not fit , so I'm still looking for the older type one if any one knows where to get one.
