My friend had the misfortune to 'write off' her e reg polo with about £30 of damage! gave it to me cos she was having trouble scrapping it, so im buzzing with the radiator, with built in temp switch, a nice battery, loads of wires, a full exhaust to chop up and maybe even an engine for a go kart!

plus ive ordered a towing hitch off the internet so the back end is destined to become a trailer!

I have one of those rads for my indy (if it is a 1.3) i think. Is the inbuilt temp switch about halfway down on the left hand side as looking from the back of the car. I was wondering why i had a threaded hole there, and thought it mite be the temp switch.

it is indeed!

You can fit the Sierra fan switch straight into it!!

I did. Cos I wanted to block it off. Using another in top hose to work the fan!

which sierras had fan switches? i thought they all used a viscous coupling?!

All those with electric fans , which I thought was all of them (possibly apart from the v. earliest).

Fan switch on Sierra mounted in vicinity of thermostat housing (IIRC).
