dickie b - 3/8/09 at 01:07 PM

Spotted- an interesting middie hillclimb special on ebay..

sorry - dont know how to do post the linky, if someone could oblige?

looks like a lot of restoration work and the back end of the chassis seems to be non-existant !

blakep82 - 3/8/09 at 01:08 PM

mookaloid - 3/8/09 at 01:11 PM

balidey - 3/8/09 at 01:16 PM

blakep82 - 3/8/09 at 01:17 PM

wow, i've just found something else awesome on ebay! could someone put up a link?
yeah, needs a bit more info than that

mookaloid - 3/8/09 at 01:18 PM

balidey - 3/8/09 at 01:41 PM

I don't think thats it, the OP suggests rear end is missing, and that one you linked to looks complete to me.

dickie b - 3/8/09 at 02:01 PM

Sorry Chaps - just realised how daft my initial post was. Muppet.

and not a middy either

mookaloid - 3/8/09 at 02:02 PM

well my crystal ball must be out of tune today

blakep82 - 3/8/09 at 02:06 PM

far too much work, and far to big for me, but that would be awesome when its all sorted

dickie b - 3/8/09 at 02:14 PM

Yes - rather a lot of work to do there I would say. Been in a shed for a loooong time (or outside given that surface corrossion.)

looks a form of mid-engined design to me though..

tegwin - 3/8/09 at 02:17 PM

Yes..... that I LIKE!!!!

Mid engined... with a transaxle.. hence why there appears to be no back end to it...

Would make a FNATASTIC project.... I wish I had the time/inclination/money lol

dickie b - 3/8/09 at 02:28 PM

The car itself isnt a bad looker either - sort of 70s sports racing job. Love that rear wing...

the collection of parts look interesting - although with all that surface rust they may only be useful to use as pattern parts to make anew.

designer - 3/8/09 at 03:26 PM

It's probable from Belgium originaly with the language.

Has it been under water???

zilspeed - 3/8/09 at 04:33 PM

There's not much that gets me excited, but that realllyyyyy does.

As others have said, definitely a mid engined car.

Looks like a Chevron B19 but isn't one.
Possibly an older Lola ?

Paging all the usual suspects who know about such stuff.

Minitici - British Trident - Rotorman ?

Even better, it's a feckin' basket case.
Must - not - bid.

Oh no...........

I've done it...

Sports Racing Cars...

Only about 20 miles away from me as well

iank - 3/8/09 at 07:35 PM

Is that an aluminium monocoque with some bits of spaceframe for the suspension to hang off?
If it is then it probably needs all the rivets drilling out and replacing.

Other than that it should clean up nicely, bit of a project but has potential.

Good luck zil

what's going on in this photo?

we can see the alloy side paneling so it the body on too high or what?

Memphis Twin - 7/8/09 at 11:26 PM

I wouldn't touch it with a bargepole. To get that piece of old junk up and running AND competitive would cost tens of £1000s.

It's scrap.

Indeed it is.

But the bodywork, now that I've tracked down what it actually is, is shall we say it, uber rare.
And it has some very considerable provenance and has raced in a rather famous race somewhere in france...

dickie b - 10/8/09 at 01:31 PM

Ahh come on now.. tell us more !!

It's sold now (£700 odd quid..and a lot of work to follow) so c'mon tell us about what you have found !

Wanna Know Wanna Know Wanna Know..

jeffw - 10/8/09 at 04:37 PM

Not one of these by any chance ?

dickie b - 10/8/09 at 09:05 PM

now that is very tasty.

Comparing the two pics.. hmm very close in so many ways.

what could be eh?

zilspeed - 10/8/09 at 09:37 PM

I'm not going to quote model names, because I think I might be wrong.

First of all, I think it's a hybrid of at least two sets of bodywork.

Having said that, I agree with a friend who reckons it's a French sports racer called a Grac.

There's elements of MT14 and MT20.

Having said that, I could be talking aboslute nonsense.
