Hi
Please excuse me if this is too noddy for most!
Can anyone send/post a photo of how their headlight brackets attaches to their chassis please? There are lots of very nice pictures of varous designs
but all from the outside.
Ideally I would want to fabricate without welding as I don't have the gear or experience. I kind of like the idea of a carbon bracket but this
build has already taken too long! The 'best' solution would actually be to find one ready done (it's got to that level now).
Thanks
Rich
Pretty sure 99% will be welded straight to chassis.
Can only think of very early MK indys that had a light bar that had both headlights bolted to it and was bolted to the top of both top chassis rails.
This is how I did mine. Sorry that I don't have a better picture of them on the car. The second picture shows the cardboard template that I
made up. All I did was then cut and bend the metal to the right size and take it to my local iron gate maker to have them welded up. They bolt to
the front cross braces in the engine bay and the wiring runs through the steel tube.
radiator hoses
carboard headlight mount
Bit of bar, couple nuts and bolts...
Thanks for the replies guys.
Steve that reminds me that the Luego ones looked like that.
I'm tempted by the simplicity of the lighting bar solution.
Just goes to show how many ways there are of doing something simple!
