I am searching for a suitable connector for my cables to the Haynes roadster pedals. I have looked at various clevis pins and other assembles but
would be grateful for any tips of products others have found work well.
Donor Sierra clutch cable has a soldered nipple on the end and is too long. Throttle cable has a plastic button on the end and is correct length.
How to decide the correct length to cut my donor clutch cable and then what should I fit on the end (solderless nipple?) Should I fit a cable
adjuster on it for fine adjustments?
Thanks
From memory I used a 1300? Capri clutch cable that was perfect for my pinto/type 9 combo. For throttle I used a universal cable kit and just clamped the cable under a couple of washers.
Are you talking about the Universal cable repair kit from Car builders solutions?
Great build diary photos. Well done on such a good job. Car looks great and there are platy of really useful details which I can compare to my
build. Thanks.
From memory I used one of these
http://www.venhill.co.uk/Cables_-_Components_Kits/Universal_Cable_Kits/U01-4-100_UNIVERSAL_THROTTLE_CABLE_SINGLE.html . At the pedal box
end I welded a tube at an angle with a plate across it with a tapped hole to match the adjuster. So at the pedal box I have the screw adjuster and at
my bike carbs I have a plain nipple.
Glad you like the photos, I could never find details when I was building mine so tried to document as much as possible.
