A load of snake oil?
"the vests have been shown to protect the wearer from stressful electromagnetic radiation and increase power and endurance – important aspects
within the demanding world of Formula One."
Sounds like utter bollox to me!
Cheers,
James
Isn't that just commercialising lucky underpants? sounds bogus to me!
see i've always wondered, if blood is full of iron (which makes it red i'm told...) woulldn't a strong magnetic field do you a bit of damamge if you were in it too long?
I like the disclaimer on the official website
"The aim of FIR-TEX is to bring technological fabrics on the market and their products will help some subjects to simply perform better or feel
better while others won't experience any difference or could even feel discomfort."
I've never seen a website which makes you acknowledge a disclaimer before you can view it....
So fir-tex have paid RBR a couple of grand to have a 1"x2" sticker on the mirror of the cars or something, doubt very much the drivers will
be in fir-pants, unless they do a special nomex blend that can "reflect your natural rays of life" back ino your balls, I mean body,
I prefer to wrap myself in tin foil anyway, it has the same effect
Sounds like Boswellox to me - we subject people to huge elctromagnetic pulses every day (10 - 15 Tesla at least) and noone has shown any problems with
it at all... unless you have some ferrous metal in your body, then it tends to be unpleasant!
Chris
I think it's the pit crew who will be wearing them.
Just what you need, stand around all day in the blazing heat, working hard in a dark blue suit... and you get to put an extra layer on underneath!
I can tell you what I'd say if I was told to wear one!

better cancell that mri scan.....
Yep about as likely as Red Bull giving you a set of wings.
I sometimes get a bit dizzy when walking through 11kV switchrooms next to the transformers. Im convinced its possible to do you in with EMF.
Im also convinced that having a house over HV Cables or under pylons can have a detrimental affect to your health as well.
The high tension power would surely ionise or alter the structure of the immediate environment, making it different to what it would be normally.
Ever heard pylons crackle in the fog or rain?
Excellent - placebo now comes in fabric form.
Their disclaimer basically admits it's a load of codswallop, and their FAQ and scientific info is a big load of LOL. Surely an F1 team
aren't stupid enough to associate themselves with this sort of woo?
