Hi guys, not quite a locost but following the same ethics
I have a 1.5TD corsa on an "L" plate.
On the way into work today the oil lamp came on
It stayed on at ilde but as soon as I pulled away it went off.
At the lights, if I reved it, it would stay on, so pressure was only there under load?
As soon as the load came off the engine the light came on again.
I checked the oil level - about half way between min and max, and that was straight after a drive so hot and loads around the engine.
Any ideas? Oil pump? is it a big job
cheers for any help

is there a rattle from behind the timeing belt covers the oil pump runs off the timeing belt and there was a problem with the pulleys coming loose on the oil pump shaft
Cheers Davie h
I did not notice any extra rattles, the only ones I currently have are road related ones and not engine ones
When the lamp is on, it is more of a flicker and the flicker speeds up with the revs could it be a duff sensor?
How would I test it?
If it happed on my crossflow I'd check the oil pressure relief valve on the oil pump, which gave exactly that symptom when it was stuck open.
I don't know if there's an equivalent thing on the Corsa.
I'd swap the sender first, if it's got a bit of swarf in it it will stop working. They are usually only a fiver at most from a parts
shop.

check that the wire hasn't rubed through to earth on something.

Probably the sender as already suggested, I would do an oil pressure check to be sure.
