I’m considering adding an oil cooler to my 1600GT Xflow.

Currently the shortest oil filter only just clears the bottom chassis rail so there is no room to add a sandwich takeoff plate.

I read recently that there is a variant of the Ford oil pump (make for Capris) that mounts the oil filter at an angle rather than straight down. This might give me the extra clearance I need.

Does anyone know if these are still available?

Someone like https://www.burtonpower.com/ should be able to advise you on what's available for Ford engines. Quite possibly supply the part as well.

sounds like a remote oil filter kit would work, would allow you to fit a nice big filter and have extra oil in the hoses plus locate the filter in a easy location for access.
