Were all sierra 1.8s SOHCs?
yet another question boys sorry, im lookin at a 1989 estate, were they all S or are some DOHC?

DOHC are 2.0ltr usually. Some 1.8 are CVH engines but a 1989 estate will most likely be SOHC.

There are a lot more 1.8 CVHs around than SOHC as far as I can tell.
If it's a 1.8 then it'll be a SOHC or CVH- there weren't any 1.8 DOHCs AFAIK!

Nope, no 1.8 DOHC at all..... I wonder if you could put a 2.0 DOHC head on a 1.8 SOHC 'pinto' engine ????
then again, why bother???

well i was hopin for a SOHC, this one turned out to be a right rattler so we gave it a miss, can someone tell me wot CVH is?

cvh has the dizzy mounted on front of cam pointing forewards and a low wide cam cover
