Help Please - What am I missing on my Donor Parts / Materials list (Locost BEC)
Hi All,
I am starting to do a bit of head scratching because I know myself that I've forgotten stuff, 'cos I've remembered stuff and then
forgotten it again before I've written it down (old age...)
So here are my lists. First one is a list of bits that I already have.
ZX12R Engine (04/05) (inc ancilleries, TB's etc)
Suspension (Spax units from a Megablade)
Wiring loom from ZX12R
Sierra Front Uprights
Sierra Rear Brakes
Sierra Rear Hubs etc
Rear Uprights (Disc)
Sierra Driveshafts
Freelander Diff
Freelander Driveshafts
Sierra 2.4 Steering Rack (Shortened)
Radiator (hopefully will have that soon)
Expansion Tank
Carbon Fibre Front CSR Arches
Carbon Fibre Nosecone (Westy)
TRE's/BJ's
Wheels & Tyres (Caterham Split Rims)
Dash Switches
Fan Mounting Kit
Handbrake (Sierra)
Fuel Filler Neck
Fuel Filler Hose
Fuel Filler Cap (Screw)
Headlights (Westy, small ones)
Mirrors / Harnesses / Steering Wheel
This second list is the stuff that I've written down that I think I need:
ZX12R Fuel Pump
ZX12R Battery
Steering Rack Extensions
Steering Column
Steering Wheel Hub (QR?)
Propshaft
Fan
Coolant Hoses
Bonnet
Scuttle
Dash
Side Panels
Rear Arches
Back Panel
Bulkheads (Front and Rear)
Tunnel
Floor
Boot Lid
Diffuser
(All in Carbon Fibre)
Screen(?)
Chassis Materials
Wishbone Mounts
Roll Bar Materials
Diff Mounts
Various bracket etc materials
Rosejoints (Inc boots, inserts etc)
Paddle for Gearchange
Gearshaft Spigot
Prop Adaptor
Fuel Tank (CF?)
Handbrake Cable
Accelerator Cable
Clutch Cable/Hydraulic clutch???
Master Cylinders
Pedal Box (Not OBP)
Seats (x2)
Exhaust Material for:
Manifold
Tubing
Exhaust Can/Box (and Tailpipe)
Exhaust Wrap?
Fuel Line
Brake Line (All braided?)
Mushrooms for Sierra Uprights
Front indicators
Side repeaters
Rear Lights
Harness Bolts (And inserts to weld)
Okay, Peeps and Peepesses...
Please add below what I need to complete a full Locost build. And I do mean, you can be as petty as you want to! (not about my fat belly though )
I would really like to start getting together a large chunk of the parts necessary and money is very, very tight nowadays (and will get even tighter
soon!!!) so I need to plan ahead for these sorts of purchases.
And I really want to get a wriggle on, 'cos when I start I don't want to be hanging round for months staring at half a chassis etc!
Thanks in anticipation of your help and advice!!!

I assume this will be IVA'd.
So you'll need reverse.

Hi Steve,
I've made up a parts list, which you might find useful for comparison. I've sent you a u2u.

Don't damage the Freelander inner CV boots if you can avoid it. They're only available from LandRover and aren't cheap. Universal
ones won't fit either.
I've just had to modify my hybrid shafts after I discovered an inherent fault in mixing the 2 joints. Bit long/complicated to explain here
though.
