Petrol Tank Outlet

When I removed all the bits from my Escort petrol tank I disconected the pipe from the outlet leaving a nut shaped object on the outside of the tank attached to a tube and filter inside the tank. Can't get this undone.

Should it undo? Need to replace the fibre seal as it is leaking. Oh, and it's now attached to the new tank that I've made.

Ok the outlet definitely won't undo, so I'm going to cut it out and weld a patch to the tank with a new outlet.

Can anyone suggest where I could get a suitable reasonably priced fitting to connect the petrol pipe to?

I used airline fittings welded in.

That's not where I got them from but the 02323 fitting goes in easy and is spot on for the 8mm fuel pipe I used.

yours, Pete

I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

Thanks Pete, that gives me a start.

Bit miffed, 0.7 stainless, not a single drip except from the bloody fitting.
