getting rid?

my local scrapyard wants the logbook for my donor sierra when scrapped, do i need to take a cpoy for anything to do with sva? just checking before its too late

get a photocopy/scan of your log book.It will help with registering and at sva,it will help towards proof of engine age.Make sure the vehicle is in your name,again this will help.

I kept the log book when they took the chassis- if you want it to get an age-related plate it's not worth the risk is it!

If they insist on the V5 take a copy, get them to give you a note confirming they intend to scrap the car and I would take the VIN plate and distroy the VIN stamp in the drivers side footwell. Stops anyone else using the cars ID or claiming as their kit donor. A picture of it being taken after be stripped is also nice to have. Our local councill will even take cars away for free now! Must be a locoster in charge now.
