carlton??

im buildin a st chassis with 1300gt and type 9 box etc, which im happy with but been offered a H reg carlton today 2lt cdx its pretty mint really the guy just wants rid, so my question is can the engine be utilised in the future and and what about the rest of the running gear???? any help appreciated

'If you can make it fit, it'll fit' seems to be the rule with Locosts. I've often wondered why the Carlton is overlooked as the engines are sound, you'd probably be ablew to get a 16v XE to fit the gearbox or at least bolt the head on. THe only prob is the 5 stud wheel hubs. You'd probably be better using a Ford axle with a hybrid prop from the Vaux 'box. Go for it!

thanx for help, so what your sayin is i could throw the carlton engine in when im bored of the 1300gt what about the drive on the carlton is it irs?? and what about the box?

Carlton should be a good donor, 16V engine will bolt to the gearbox as the bottom end is identical.

Gearbox is strong.

Can't think why nobody does use them.

the 2.0i is good for about 125BHP.
