Hi guys,
just wondering if anyone can help i have a jago geep that i have completely stripped and im now thinking of trying to make it a 4x4 but just wondering if anyone would know whats involved? It has been suggested to use a suzuki as the donor but i wouldnt know which model would suit best as in axel widths. I know this is possible as someone has already done it i found a page on the web but it didnt have much info on how it was done or what model to donor to use.
Anyone have a suggestions or ideas they wish to share

Hi, Talk to the illustrious Coozer on here! Lots of zook based cars around some retaining floor pan others just using running gear, better built cars with cheaper spares are now heading down land rover route as stuff is cheap and plentiful.
There are detailed build stories on Jago owners Club but there is a members omnly section so you will need tol join the club - about £15 and once on the road you will get it back as insurabnce discount.

I'm converting mine to $X$ using the axles trans and V8 from a Range Rover... its fairly straight forward as it just needs spring cups on the chassis and 4 mounts for the radius arms.. only problem is the axles are as wide as the body and the wheels stick right out.. just some arch extensions needed.

Re: going down the Suzuki route its been done a few times on an SJ retaining the zook chassis and just mounting the body on top.. then theres a couple in the club who have mounted the Suzuki springs on custom hangers and gone down that route.

To me the Suzuki route is fairly mild as the axles suit the width OK and using LR gear makes it a bit more extreme as the trans and suspension are seriously big and heavy duty..

The deciding factor for me was the cost of parts, LR parts are dirt cheap and easy to get a hold off, Suzuki parts not so..

Dont forget theres the Jimny as a potential donor but not seen one done yet..

Joining the JOC opens a lot more of the forum with most of the technical stuff in there including mine and another big build thread.

Jago Club are giving a preview into members sectionof the site next Sunday for anyone who is wondering if it is worth coughing up the £15 to join up- just need to have a user name accout set upthenlog in on Sunday

Ps Coozers jeep is gonna be a beast- run and hide under the stairs!
