MX5 propshaft in a modified Haynes chassis
Does anyone know if the modified Haynes chassis designs from the likes of Saturn etc are based on keeping the MX5 propshaft intact? Or should I be
looking at an engineering company to get it to the right length for me?

Nope sorry it's yet another expense, the original one is too long. There are conflicting views on whether to send your standard one off to be
modified or to get a brand new one made. I shall let the members that are more knowledgeable than me answer that one

Oh Poo. I guess thinking about it that would make sense, in the MX5 the rear wheels aren't under your armpits like a roadster... Well, on the
good side it means that I don't have to worry about engine and diff positioning, I can just put them wherever they are comfortable and then fix
the prop to suit.

I got the standard MX5 propshaft shortened to suit my installation.
It cost less than £100 (in 2005) to get it shortened and a new end fitted and the whole lot balanced.

Considering the chatter recently regarding prop failure I think I would be calling Bailey Morris for a new one.
