Building: R1 IRS locost on the road/ electric kitten

I remember a nice story about one of the racing heroes of yesteryear talking about a watts linkage "I know where the roll centre is because there's a bolt through it"
Also early lotus 6 or 7 were trying to work out how to attach the lower A arm on the back axle, found the diff drain plug was in JUST the right place.......
I'm sure someone will add correct details (or refute) these tales
