I think all are rwd xr4x4 is 4 wheel drive

Yep. only 4x4's are the xr4x4 and later cossies.

They are all either RWD or 4WD, i.e. none is FWD, if that's what you meant?

ok goood. and would escort mk1/2 part match up with sierra parts? e.g. escort engine and sierra gearbox (5spd) diff and rear axel..

You might need a different clutch though.

2.0 Turbo 16V

All either 2wd or 4x4 with the exception of the 2.9 which was 4x4 only.

Salloon, Hatch and estate versions available but not for all engine options.

All other cars RWD.

If your using a
<89 2.0
<88 1.8
<91 1.6

Then the gearbox is a type 9 as used in many Mk2 Escorts. And the engine is a Pinto as used in the MK2.
