Donors
Hi All
I am about to take the first steps on the journey that ends in the cockpit of a Locost. My question is regarding a donor car. I have a 'D'
registered Capri 2.0 Laser sat on my drive, though machanically sound it is otherwise gradually roting. Would this make a good donor or should I scrap
it and look for something else?

Hi Mate,
the capri must have a 2.0 Pinto engine, 4 or 5 speed box and a live rear axle - so it will make a very suitable donor. Particularly for a book style
car with a slightly wider chassis.
I think the Capri rear axle is a bit wider than an Escort one (as per the book) and the Pinto engine is a little bit taller but plenty of people use
both items.
If you want to pop along to a local meet we have a meeting every month (next one is Monday 6th March) in and around Redditch/Warwick/Stourbridge and
you're more than welcome to come and have a look at some finished cars.
See the 'Clubs and Events' section and look for South Birmingham Meetings.
U2U or email me (see my profile for email address).

I used a 2.0s capri for mine, the axle is 2" wider so made the chassis 2" wider.I also added 2" to the height to help with the
engines extra height.
Good luck
