Donor Parts
Does anyone know were I can get a list or has a list of major components that can be reconditioned to give a car a new plate and note a Q plate
I understand that only one of these components can be reconditioned

Do you mean an 06 plate or an age related plate (related to the donor)?

AFAIK, it's only the engine, and that has to be reconditioned to 'as new' spec. Everything else needs to be new.

For a new reg everything must be new except one component which can be re-built to as-new. Normally would be the engine, but it looks like you could
pick any one thing (gearbox, seat, gearknob  ) You will need receipts for everything (theoretically) and 'proof' the reconditioning is
to 'as new'.
It sounds like an expensive pain in the arse for no real benefit to me.
Other options are:
Q reg, don't know why people are bothered with them (can't see it when you're driving ), but you can use anything to build the car
subject to SVA and proving you own it. It won't affect the insurance premium if you use a specialist, and I can't see it affecting resale
value.
Age related plate. Similar rules as the Q, but you need a valid V5 for the donor and to use 2 or more major bits from it (i.e. 2 of the engine,
gearbox, front suspension, diff, rear suspension IIRC). You get a plate issued that is of the same year as the donor, but probably won't be the
same one.

I would like to build a car on a 06 plate but by the time I get of my but it will probably be a 59 plate !!!!!
but i think it could be a Q plate seeing as I dont want to spend the time dismantling a tin top
