Newbie needing some advice
Hi folks, I am planning to start my build this summer and have already acquired 2 donors:
1. a '89 Sierra with no engine
2. a '92 MK5 Escort XR3i
I was planning on using the engine from the XR3i, and the running gear from the Sierra,
but I would like some advice on whether I can use any of the other bits from the Escort.
For example;
Are the hubs compatible?
Could I use the breaking system,
would the wheels fit??
Can I use the steering?
Cheers for any response

What kit are you building? Most seven types like sierra hubs, steering racks etc. You going to mate the MT75/type 9 to the silvertop? I've got
some knowledge with this if you need more info, as i've just done that very thing.

I am intending to use Dedion axle, already have a MK1 Escort steering rack, and know that I can modify the sierra hubs/uprights.
I just wanted to know if I could use any other parts of the XR3i such as hubs, springs, callipers etc. I haven't really got that much space to
keep things lying around.

It doesnt mater how much you save, you will forget something.
What induction are you going to run ?
From the escort you will just want the engine unless you plan on using the injection and ignition?
Its the sierra where you will need to save the most from.
