Donor car - what do i need?
Hi,
i should be able to get a sierra donor car cheap but will only have access to it for a weekend, so i need to make sure i get everything off it i need,
im building a MK indy.
parts:
V5, Vin Plate.
Engine, Box, Prop, Diff, drive shafts, front and rear hub assemblies including brakes.
steering column / rack
loom & instruments, stalks.
anything else i will need? things like master cylinders, radiator etc will be new.

Add, chassis stamp from under driver seat to the V5 and VIN Plate.
Side indicators if you can, but they will probably break.
All breaking components you can scavange (though I wouldn't bother with the old lines and pads)
Steering wheel. Plastic surround for steering wheel.
All the screws you can scavange.
Oh and if its a Saph, the back seat back pannels are nice to rest your knees on.
Don't forget wheels too you can always get nice flash ones later.

I used the wiring loom as well, dismantled the intier for a bucket full of fasteners.
Pedal box, lights etc etc to sell on...

Try and salvage as many nuts and bolts as you can from the engine bay/suspension etc, especially the big ones/odd sizes. You might not want to re-use
the grubby old stuff but it'll come in handy to fit things temporarily when you find you don't have a shiny new one in that size, you can
then get on with building the car and just note down all the fixings you need to buy later, saves you having to go out and buy fixings a couple at a
time as you find them

thanks, totaly forgot about the steering surround
(will be a new wheel so dont need that).
going to take all the nuts / bolts i can.
any other things i need?

If it is a saph take the boot carpet too as its quite nice to carpet a decent amount of floor space.

Oh, and any clips /fasters that the loom was attached with. Don't know how much use they are but the *look* really useful
Add also the number plates as a bit of extra proof, and with a bit of gaffer tape you can make a nice set of skis for really small midgets.

Important! Don't lose the bolts that connect the prop shaft to the diff. They are impossible to replace these days.

Ignition components - coil, ignition amplifier.
Keys for steering/ignition lock.
All coolant rubber pipes - even if you don't use them they can be handy for planning / trial fits.
