Cortina Bearings
Hi Guys
I am starting to refurb the cortina hubs. I have just revieved my second set of brand new bearings that also don't match the hubs. Does anyone
know the correct bearings for a MKIV / MKV cortina front hub?
Greg.

I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

I'm an idiot!!! I was trying to fit the new bearings in without taking out the old external part of the bearing (shell). It's kinda
difficult to put in new ones unless you take out all of the old one first, I guess.
Sorry guys....

If you are lucky you will be able to read the part numbers off the original bearings, alternatively take them along to a bearing distributor and they
should be able to identify them.

Cortina front wheel bearings are:
Inner bearing - 1988/1992
Outer bearing - LM11949/910
First part of the part number refers to the cone (the part with the rollers) the second part is the cup (the bit you forgot to take out!).

Thanks guys for all your input. First hub rebuilt and painted. Pics to follow as soon as I get my camera back.
It was nice actually building something instead of taking something apart. Makes a change.
Greg.
