iNFO ON PINTO (WHAT A POET)
Since my whizzz round R.A.F Whittering last wednesday I`ve been trying to find a Sierra 2l s.o.h.c. (stop laughing i know they are as rare as rocking
horse poo) so the question is Can a D.o.h.c engine be fitted to luego and what are the advantages (if any). also has anyone fitted a 2Ltr injection
and converted it to carbs, unless anybody knows the whereabouts of large pile of aforementioned donors in Norfolk.

As far as i know they are not that rare? When i was looking for a donor, there seemed to be a few, i ended up goin for a DOHC as i had a pinto
already, and the donors engine was blown, making it really cheap.
Have a look on www.loot.co.uk and other places like that, autotrader isnt too useful as people dont tend to put dirt cheap cars on there as they
charge a bit.

Whereabouts are you in Norfolk Andy? Was my haunting ground a few years back (my parents live off the A11 behind Snetterton race circuit).
Will have a word amongst my mates next time I speak to them and see if any of them know of a donor going cheap

By all accounts you are much better waiting for a Pinto, as the Twincam is taller than the Pinto and not as tuneable.
Gordon
Ill now wait for the attack of the twin cam brigade.
I'm sure I've got one, just don't know where I've put it

Pinto's are everywhere, I was given a complete car not so long ago, a Granada.
Cheers

Note to all: I really don't know when to leave well alone. I tried to get clever with the mods, then when they gave me a lifeline to see the
error of my ways, I tried to incite more trouble via u2u. So now I'm banned, never to return again. They should have done it years ago!

Thanks again for advice to chrisg, chrisw, greggors 84 and protofj (whatever that means) However I rang a number who have a J plated whole car (2L
DOHC) for £100.00, less than 10 miles away from my home town (east dereham). if i can source a SOHC, my dream is beginning.
Stupid question time again...... will sohc engine match dohc gearbox and ann silly reese (ancillaries)

Plenty of gearbox's around for the pinto too,DOHC box should go on anyway but if you have to look for a box its the 5 speed type 9 your looking
for.
You shouldnt have to pay more than £30/40 for a 2nd hand box,you may even get lucky and get one for less.
