Free car!
My friend had the misfortune to 'write off' her e reg polo with about £30 of damage! gave it to me cos she was having trouble scrapping
it, so im buzzing with the radiator, with built in temp switch, a nice battery, loads of wires, a full exhaust to chop up and maybe even an engine for
a go kart!
plus ive ordered a towing hitch off the internet so the back end is destined to become a trailer!
result!

I have one of those rads for my indy (if it is a 1.3) i think. Is the inbuilt temp switch about halfway down on the left hand side as looking from the
back of the car. I was wondering why i had a threaded hole there, and thought it mite be the temp switch.

You can fit the Sierra fan switch straight into it!!
I did. Cos I wanted to block it off. Using another in top hose to work the fan!

Is it better to have the switch in in the hose instead of the rad?

Joel,
All those with electric fans , which I thought was all of them (possibly apart from the v. earliest).
Fan switch on Sierra mounted in vicinity of thermostat housing (IIRC).
