espace v6
A mate of mine called me from the breakers and said there was a v6 espace.
I don't really know anything about it, any comments.?
It's 24 valve but thinking FWD, has anyone done this and then perhaps taken a different drive shaft or even made a carbon fibre one.
That's probs a bit overboard, but any comments welcome.

Its a terrible engine, shared with the peugeots of that era. There are much better v6 engines with much better tuning potential around for the same or
less money.

Mazda KL-DE from a mx-6/probe would be my choice, wish I'd gone that way from the start

2.5 v6 24v mx-6, would the insurance be rediculous on that?

Don't think engine size made much difference at all on my kit insurance, not had much experience in that field though.

Same as the Ford probe, different to all others (and lovelier in my eyes ), Everytime I see a pic of clairetoos car it gives me goosepimples

I went from a 1.25 with 75bhp to a 1.7 with 125bhp, and my insurance went down by £50 to £117.
That Renault V6 engine is a pony though - go for the Mazda one!

I've got a KLDE in my Fury - and its a sweet little engine - small , light and revvy .
Mine (and a few others I have done.....) is rear wheel drive - just an adapter plate and special flywheel needed to connect it to an Mx5 gearbox .
With throttle bodies and megasquirt it should be putting out close to 200 BHP , and sings all the way to 8000 RPM
Its cuz I is blond , innit

Will weld for food......

The later Espace (97 onwards) have transvere located engines (and boxes) and the V6 24V is not as bad as the early Douvrin engines.
Plenty of power (Clio V6 upto 250hp) and quite economical too. Reliable is good too (with exception of the ignition coils)
Would be an excellent donor for a Avantime replica

if it is a later one , its a fine engine , a 60deg v6 .
if its an earlier one and 24v - then you young ones no nothing about venturis and alpines with these engines in .
the very early odd fire engine is definitely something to miss .

Check for parts availability and costs first.
I got rid of my renault engines because parts were rediculously expensive and any tuning information seemed to be a trade secret.
The kit came with a 2.2 renault engine already fitted, and was pretty bomb proof, though with 128hp (from new, probably more like 90 to 110 in mine)
it just didnt seem to have the power i wanted.
Now im fitting a 24V V6 cosworth lump on Megasquirt and throttle bodies, which should give me anywhere between 230 and 260hp.
Kindest Regards,
Richard.
