Manta uprights
Hello all..
Did someone used Opel Manta uprights? I think in England this car is called Vaxhall Something, but I don't know exactly. Anyway it was Jimmy
McRae's one...
I saw these parts in a scrapyard and found it pretty. The only thing that I don't like is the big scrub radius due to the hub lenght. I
don't know if i's realy bigger than on a Cortina or MX5 but I think it's possible to get lower scrub radius with FWD car uprights.
Can anyone give advice?

Here is a picture. The steering arm seems to be removable so possible to trim the ackerman if needed.

They look about right. They certainly look similar to the cortina items.

Opel Manta in U.K. too.
I looked at one in the scrapyard but someone had had one side. They look ideal for the job and if the taper's same top and bottom you could use
the top joint for both. Put some slotted holes in the top wishbone for adjustment till you get them right then weld washers in to fix them.
yours, Pete
I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

The Opel Manta had the same front end as the Opel Ascona b which is the same as the Vauxhall Cavalier 1. The Bottom ball joint should have a 1:8 taper
with a narrow end of 16.2mm, the top ball joint should have a narrow end of 13.6mm. It`d be nice to think that somewhere theres a ball joint like the
transit one that would do tha same job for these. I`ve seen mention of a Sherpa one, but their taper is 0.5mm smaller at the narrow end. All
information available on the Sidem PDF catalogue. A big download but really useful. HTH, Steve.

Steve, let me bless you until the 7th generation for the Sidem tip. I've been searching hours fot that kind of catalogue.
In addition it's a Belgian company so I will be able to contact or visit them and ask for more info if needed.
Thanks a lot..
