Granada Scorpio as a Donor
Hi,
Yes, I am a right Newbie to Locosts. However, I have just been offered a nice clean Ford Granada/Scorpio. Does anyone know if I can use this as a
donor. I think the back will be OK, ie locost or other chassis suitably modified for IRS / Ford Diff. I do appreciate this is wider than an escort
back end.
More to the point, can I mate the Granada front hubs onto sierra stubs / Uprights. I know I can use sierra uprights with the cone adaptor bit. but I
want to keep the same wheels for all 4 hubs. (ie a nice set of alloys on the Granny) trouble is Granny wheels are 5 stud and Sierra ones are 4
stud.
Anyone help me out, or got a good idea. I dont want to have to source too many vehicles / parts, as the missus wont let me have a scrapyard in the
front garden! I am pushing it with just one donor car!
Also I found a good site, with info on what diffs etc were on what versions of what sierra's and Granada's. Anyone know where it is, as I
have lost it.
Thanks in advance.

The Granny Uprights are the same as the sierra.

are you talking of the granada scorpi that ran thro the mid eightes to early nineties, or the 'frog scrorpio' that was the last big ford
sold in the uk?
If its the 80/90 version, I have used this as a donor with the v6 2.4 engine. It seems to use the same basic gear as the sierra.
and lots of people use sierras

Thanks, it sounds encouraging.
Its a "F" reg Scorpio, I am not sure if its 2.8 or 2.9. But it is Auto, but thats not the end of the world. I only want to use one donor
if possible. I thought the Granada front upright had slightly different angles to the Sierra. I do know you cant use the Granny Steering rack, as the
angles end up being wrong. (Man at Lugeo told me that and about the uprights) Hence knowing if I can use Sierra uprights with Granny hubs to get 5
stud wheels all round.
Thanks for the info so far .
