MX6 Donor

Got the chance of an MX6 (read Ford Probe 2.5 V6 24-valve) of my Step son. the car was a runner but has been off the road for sometime now and he wants rid.

I was wondering if there is anything out there that uses the MX6 as a possible donor?

I know the engine/gearbox should be a possibility, but what about the rest of the running gear?

Yep, they certainly are chap, but then not all kit cars are front engined RWD. I was wondering if there was anything rear engined or some possible adaption of a FWD to a RWD gearbox?

I mean, the Focus is a FWD and there are plenty of Zetec engines used in kits.

There was a guy who put a MX3 1.8 V6 in his MX5, so it can be converted to rwd as I think the MX3 engine is just smaller bores but same engine.

Have to say this one sounds better :-)

Those are both the same car - and it was a 2.5 on bike throttle bodies - but thats where the similarity to mine ends , I built my Fury about the same time that maita was being built but knew nothing about it .

The Mx3 1.8 is a smaller bore and shorter stroke - but externally identical to the 2.0 and 2.5 engines .

Thanks Claire, you may have just convinced me to get the car, sell the stuff I don't need and build (or get a rebuild project) a Fury

Trouble is, I don't want all the hassle of going through the damn IVA! I've got to put my locost through very soon and not looking forward to the test or the cost So would be better if I could get a tested 'project'
