2 litre DOHC

Has anyone out there fitted the DOHC bits in their locost as i would like to discuss potential problems. Any engine bay pictures would be handy too. Cheers. Scotty G.

I have just started building my chassis and will be using the DOHC engine. I am making the chassis 2 inches taller than book to accomodate the height.

Plenty of people have used the engine and will probably give some replies.

Hi Scotty, I too intend to use the DOHC in the MK no pics as yet though sorry. The more I research the more,|I am goin off the idea due to size, width sump and not least the Inj sytstem if I leave it on for the mo. But hey I have one so might as well give myself a brainache. Logic tells me to go the 2.0 sohc route. but doin this will loose the donor I.D. which I want to keep.
Have seen some of the guys here using the DOHC so we're def not alone. Look at it as A challenge ! cheers

Davg, get an engine changed registered on the origional donors V5. That way when it comes to it, the engine is the one from the donor car.

Thanks Dave, must admit that i'm tempted by the price of Zetecs on ebay but my DOHC has only covered 36K, maybe start with this then upgrade to a Zetec at a later date. I will check out the photo archives and hope for some inspiration!!!! Cheers.

On the subject of Zetecs, does anyone know why some have different coloured tops. Is it to denote variable specs or just to match the colour of the car it came from/went in??
