Hi all, I have searched and couldnt find anything. Does anyone know of anybody that will collect a stripped donor for cheap near Belper?

Try Albert Looms in Spondon http://www.albertlooms.com . Depends on the price of steel, but they may pay you. They also have a good yard that you can wander in to your heart's content, though most sierras have long since gone.

i've spent a few days chasing this around me and in the end i'm paying a not so local scrap yard to collect. If i could deliver it they'd be paying me.

In the end its costing me 20 quid, they're coming with a hiab (sp?) and they don't get the chassis number / log book / anything else.

Try your local council - mine will collect cars for free. If a car is dumped they move it so I guess it makes no difference to them. Worth a try.

Steel prices are high at the moment. Scrapyards down this way are paying £ 40 per ton, so you shouldn't be paying for removal.

yeah but is a shell and the last scrap yard in my town closed down about 2 years ago. So who ever collects has to drive here, if it was a complet car they'd pay. Not complete, hassle to move and no V5 ..... most don't want to know hence getting the scrap metal man involved. Local bloke would happily pay me - but i've got to get it to him. getting one coming from about 10 miles away who's not asking too many questions despite the fact i can prove what i'm doing is legal.

Talk to your local firestation who are always on the lookout for cars to train on. Around here they have a contractor to supply old cars and he took mine without logbook and with no charge

engine crane and trolley jack are your friends here.

Did it today, wasn't too much hassle at all.

lack of engine crane and broken trolley jack, should be fun carrying it down the drive.. especially since the engine is still inside it! think its gonna have to be a job for a few old skateboards
