why sierra over escorts

i was just looking at ebay for a doner and there are a lot more early escorts ie 1990-1995 than there are early sierra's , and they seem bit cheaper if anything.

how come people seem to mainly go for the sierra ? is the escort suitable or just lower spec so people prefer sierra?

Escort is pretty useless as its front wheel drive for a start.

as flak says, its only the early escort that is any use as a donor.

You really need a RWD card....Last RWD Escort was made c. 1980 when then last Mk II rolled off the production line

Sierra is one of the last RWD Fords available and were extremely plentiful.

Scorpio was also RWD but rather lardy. Components could be useful if you're going for mega power figures though
