Granada 4x4 2.9i E Reg. Donor Car
I am an aspiring Locost builder with access to the above donor car. Can anyone recommend a chassis and/or kit that would suit it best? Is it a good
donor to have? Any specific things I should look at before buying it?
Anyone's advice would be most appreciated.

I don't believe there are any kits out there for 4x4 as there are several problems associated with using it (most notably the front shocks being
in the way of the front drive shafts). Also, the Granada drive shafts will be too long for the Sierra based kits. I've recently tried swapping
the shafts from a Sierra onto Granada hubs and diff. The diff end fits but the hubs didn't but this was a RWD 2.8i v6 so the 4WD may be
different.
None of these problems are much in the big scheme of things tho. You'd probably be best going for RWD so you'd need a type 9 box from a
Sierra (I'm sure someone will swap ) and a pair of Sierra drive shafts and hubs (XR4x4 ones if you want to retain the rear discs)

There's a bloke been doing a Sierra 4x4
http://www.geocities.com/ewanspence/
When I first looked at it I thought there's no way, but he seems to have got MOST of it sorted.
Mysteriously seems to have stopped building / logging around xmas last year. Whether he got sick of it or met with a brick wall, I don't
know.
I've been tossing up whether to go for the 4x4 route myself, (maybe pick up a Nissan Skyline 4x4), but I think I'd prefer oversteer...
(plus factor in the extra build time)
Good luck,

I'm still here.....
Not sick of it or hit a wall, only problem is building work around the garden taking up both my time and money..... but the benefit of this is my
garage will be nearly 3 times the original size..... but thats my whole summer planned out so little work will be done on the 7.

4x4 kit cars
The Dax Rush is available as a kit around a XR4x4 or sierra cossie donor. I've seen a finished article based on a cossie with a 500bhp engine,
'twas an absolute monster. Cost about £30K to build IIRC.
