Road tax exemption
Can anyone tell me if the donor car is a pre 1973 tax exempt, after registering the kit car with the the original number plate. Does the kit car
qualify for road tax exemption as well.
Mnay Thanks

the turning point seems to be when the plates changed from black and silver to the modern sh!te. 1972 <--

the issue is that you don't retain the original donor's reg anymore (pre sva cars may have done), best case now you will get an age
related plate but it will show as registered year of when you sva and register it on v5 with dvla.
Ned.
beware, I've got yellow skin

any car made before 1st 1973 I believe.
doesn't apply to kit cars unless the original chassis is used.
best you can hope for is age related plate.

a car MANUFACTURED before january 1st 1973 qualifies for tax exempt, so some registered after january 1973 can still qualify if you can prove it left
the factory in 1972.
